Nora Daniels is a big Hollywood star that has gone into hiding at Granite Ridge Ranch after her divorce and the birth of her daughter. She is soaking up all the nurturing she can from her friends in Montana and is slowly healing. This is the family she never had and right now she needs their love and protection for just a while longer.

However, Nora’s friend and sometime co-star, Fritz, believes she needs to get back to work and live her own life again. He sends Burke Elliot, friend and movie producer, to get Nora’s signature on a film contract. Burke’s assignment is side tracked when Nora, baby Ashley and he are marooned in a cozy cabin during a blizzard. Is it love or fatal attraction that brings Burke and Nora together?

Terry McLaughlin is a favorite author of mine because her writing seems so smooth and effortless. Her prose reads like poetry when she describes the first connection between Burke and baby Ashley. And Nora’s and Burke’s love making scene brought tears to my eyes at the sheer beauty of Terry’s words. I know Ms. McLaughlin must be a mother because the rhythm of the mother dance was so perfect that I found myself rocking to soothe Nora’s crying baby. As a reader, I have grown to know each character in this series as Ms. McLaughlin lovingly introduces them with such thoroughness and clarity that they feel like old friends. Their warmth and humanity shines through and make me hunger for their stories. Ms. McLaughlin did not hold back but immersed her readers into her characters’ lives with their tragedies, triumphs and teasing antics. I sincerely recommend that you feel the love and read Terry McLaughlin’s MAYBE, BABY and the entire Bright Lights, Big Sky series.
