Samantha and three other women have been offered a chance at having their prison time commuted if they participate in a sting to capture the mysterious and dangerous Tsernyakov. Samantha has been invited to a beach party which should put her closer to Cavanaugh, a man who deals with Tsernyakov. David Moretti was with her when she was invited and so he was included. But David is not a trained field agent and his twin brother is recruited. Reese agrees to do the job but only in exchange for some information the FBI has that he needs. Working closely with Sam and posing as a couple, he is surprised when his desire to protect Sam becomes more, making him want to make sure she is constantly safe. After all as a couple they should be together. Sam knows what she has to do and Reese cannot get in the way with overprotective instincts. Her bodyguard will just have to deal. Or will he?
With Tsernyakov’ final plan approaching completion, tensions are building. Even though each book is stand alone, the reader get bits and pieces that can only horrify us at the thought of the consequences of his plan. Dana Marton has done an excellent job of getting the reader hooked and at the same satisfying the reader with each book’s conclusion.
In My Bodyguard, Sam and Reese are perfect together. Reese is the tough guy, a man who has seen and done more than we can imagine and yet Sam brings out that protective and loving feeling that baffles him to the delight of the reader as we revel in watching Reese fall love. Hang on tight as we go along for the dangerous and breakneck ride in The Bodyguard, the third in a excellent series by Dana Marton.
