Androlettti’s Mistress by Melanie Milburne
September 20, 2007 in M&B Modern Romance, October 2007, Reviews by sheryl
Nikki Ferliani loved one man but married another and now her first love is back and determined to make her pay for betraying him. Massimo Androletti has never forgotten Nikki or the lesson she taught him but this time he holds all the cards and her life in his hands. Massimo offers her a proposition, to become his mistress for as long as he wants. Both of them are hiding secrets that they don’t want the other to know. But will their secrets keep them together or apart?
A superbly penned story of a woman’s heartbreaking choice between the love of a man and the love of family. I loved Massimo and Nikki, their unpredicted attraction to one another, how their budding love was shattered by secrets and ultimately betrayal. I found this tale intriguing of how Nikki refused to tell Massimo about the secret she was keeping and how Massimo also had his own secret that he declined to tell her about. The vivid emotions of these two characters was so real that it felt like I was watching it and not reading about it. Although there were times when I didn’t like either one of these characters for the games they played with each other’s emotions but in the end they made amends by learning that sharing one’s secrets with another also shares the burden you carry. Ms Milburne deserves kudos for this book, it is not only a delight to read but will leave you believing that love will always find a way.
