I really enjoyed reading this outstanding book for not only the drama that plays out within its pages but also for the fascinating love affair that ensues. I found Eloise a dedicated, almost obsessively, but patient woman who wanted the truth, no matter what it was. I could understand her reactions to certain things, after all everyone wants to believe the best of those they care for. And I really enjoyed Lachlan because he wanted to protect his family but also not destroy the relationship he was building with Eloise. From its intense beginning to the climactic conclusion I was spellbound and thoroughly enjoyed each and every step.
