"A marriage of convenience that ends with a happily-ever-after."

After the death of his best friend Ric and Ric’s wife Laura, Mario Marcolini finds himself the guardian of their daughter, Molly, along with Laura’s best friend Sabrina. But when their guardianship is threatened Mario suggests a marriage of convenience because he thinks Sabrina is nothing but a home wrecking gold digger who will take his offer with both her greedy little hands. But all is not what it seems because Sabrina hides the truth from Mario just so she can raise Molly as her mother would have wanted. After all falling for this Lothario can only bring her heartbreak. Or will it be the beginning of a wonderful life?

Bound by the Marcolini Diamonds by Melanie Milburne is a book that begins with a tragedy followed closely by a marriage of convenience that ends with a happily-ever-after to tug at any readers’ heartstrings. There were times within this book that I really detested the hero, especially his chauvinist views and when he learns the truth about Sabrina I couldn’t help but cheer even though, at the end, Mario did finally earn his redemption in my eyes. And I felt for Sabrina but I’m not sure I would have put up with his autocratic attitude for as long as she did, even though she felt that she was protecting innocents with her refusal to tell the truth. Ms Milburne has created characters that readers will love or hate and for me I enjoyed the aspects they portrayed even when they exasperated me. Kudos Ms Milburne for an engaging story.
