Review: A LITTLE CONSEQUENCE by Amy Knupp
August 16, 2010 in August 2010, Harlequin Superromance, Reviews by Donna Zapf
Selena Jarboe has run away from her family, isolating herself from having to worry about losing her brother who has returned for another tour in Afghanistan. She spends her first night on San Amaro Island searching for someone to help her forget about her worries and finds the perfect man in Evan Drake. Their one passionate night together seemed idyllic until Selena realizes that she became pregnant.
Telling Evan was difficult and his reaction, though predicable, was disheartening but Selena is determined to be a good mom. When Evan has time to think, he immediately begins to pursue Selena to make her his wife. However, Selena does not want more heartbreak and despite her feelings for Evan, his dangerous job as a firefighter does not make him a good husband or father candidate in her opinion.
Talented author Amy Knupp takes us back to San Amaro Island, revisiting favorite characters and meeting new ones in her compelling tale A LITTLE CONSEQUENCE. Selena and Evan were fated to fall in love even if it did take a little nudge from an unplanned pregnancy. What a treat to watch Evan’s persistence pay off as Selena’s reluctance melts away to acceptance and trust. Can’t wait to read more Texas Firefighters’ stories by master storyteller Amy Knupp!икони
