Review: HER SURE THING by Helen Brenna
August 11, 2011 in August 2011, Harlequin Superromance, Reviews by Donna Zapf
Mirabelle Island is a long way from L. A. but it is the exact place former model Grace Kahill needs to be to heal. She was in a tragic car accident that left her scarred and her modeling career in shambles. Grace couldn’t wait to leave Mirabelle after high school graduation and with her almost immediate success as a model, she never planned to go back. Now, she craves the solace of home and it seems her father needs her as well after her mother’s death. But there may be another very good reason to stay on Mirabelle, Sean Griffin.
Nothing could have surprised Doctor Sean Griffin more than to learn that he has a teenage son who will be spending the summer on Mirabelle. His former fiancée kept it a secret from him but now that her present marriage is failing, she needs Sean to take their son for the summer. Sean is ready to settle down, he has a small medical practice, a home and is proprietor of Mirabelle’s Livery Stable; now all he needs is a wife to share it with. After meeting Grace, he feels he may have met that special someone. If only he could make a connection with his son and convince Grace she belongs with him, life would be perfect.
Readers feel the tension and stress drop away as we read tales from Mirabelle Island by talented award winning Helen Brenna. In her latest book, HER SURE THING, characters Grace and Sean retreat from the fast paced L. A. lifestyle, looking for a place to regroup. Brenna’s loving attention to detail has us all wishing for an island retreat with a small town flavor just like Mirabelle Island.
