"SIREN SONG is a supernatural tale of mythological beings and is filled with passion plus convincing reality."

In Book 4 of the Mythica Series, there is much believability as current events perfectly blend with mythology to produce a story that comes across as a credible possibility. Stephanie Draven has created a series where ancient legends come alive and live amongst us in the modern world.

Every time a song is sung by Chloe Karras in the Annapolis nightclub, the men in the audience always seem to feel a sexual pull toward her and she enjoys their enthusiastic reactions. However, for the past few nights, one naval officer who intently watches her is surprisingly unaffected by her voice. She is finally curious enough that she goes and talks with him at his table. What he divulges to her about her singing not only stuns Chloe but makes her wonder about his accusations.

After having come in contact with other sirens for many years, Captain Alexandros Shore realizes how dangerous these women can be to susceptible men. While he does feel an unwelcome reaction to Chloe, he knows resisting her is a necessity. When he tries to force her to leave the city thus keeping other men safe, Alex hopes to not fall under her seductive spell when she sings.

Stephanie Draven makes her enchanting Mythica world fascinating yet genuinely realistic. While the beings in her stories may have supposedly lived in a time long ago, her account of how they thrive in our current world is told with much ingenuity and plenty of intelligent writing skill. Ms. Draven makes the reader want to consider that there really are individuals who currently exist in our neighborhoods who possess extraordinary powers, and we are none the wiser. Having Chloe not be aware of her ability makes the story even more intriguing, as beliefs are challenged and her mind struggles to make sense of newly learned facts. Her actions seem rather nonconforming at first until more about her is revealed, and then the reader comes to understand her motives much better. The same can be said for Alex, as he came across as unbending when it involved his long held duty until his background is disclosed. Though the shorter length keeps the premise clear-cut and focused, Ms. Draven still manages to pack a lot of emotion into the novella. The sincerity behind the actions of Alex and Chloe is intensely honest, and this let me know why they frequently responded as they did on numerous occasions. Any connection felt between them is powerful and described with much feeling. There is a mystery from the start of the story, and some unforeseen facts are uncovered as time passes which are completely startling and add suspense to the conclusion. SIREN SONG is magically imaginative and entertaining.
