Review: The Surgeon’s Special Delivery by Fiona Lowe
When her two best friends found out that they couldn’t have a child of their own, Dr. Tess Dalton decided that the least she could do for her longtime pal Carolyn and her husband James is to be a surrogate mum for them and give them the baby which they’ve always wanted. Tess wanted to repay Carolyn and James for all their help, guidance and friendship and she cannot wait for baby Oscar to be born so that their dream of parenthood can finally be realized. It was all supposed to be so perfect – until a tragic accident killed Carolyn and James, leaving Tess alone and friendless once more. Tess doesn’t know what she is going to do next. However, the one thing she is sure she’ll never do is allow James’ twin brother Callum Halroyd to ride roughshod over her!
Callum had been working in war torn countries for the last couple of years, saving the world with his medical skills and surgical prowess. As children, him and James had been as close as twin brothers could be, but when James chose to bury himself in an Outback backwater instead of joining him on the front line, Callum had vowed never to speak to his brother ever again. However, James’ death has shocked him to his very core and he’s determined to ensure that baby Oscar will have the best possible life. However, it’s a shame that Oscar’s surrogate mum doesn’t seem to want to comply with his wishes!
Tess refuses to let Callum push her around. He might be a hot shot surgeon with supreme surgical knowledge, but there is no way she is going to allow him to look down his nose at the Outback town she’s living in! Tess is certainly not going to let Callum dictate to her and the two fiery doctors soon clash, igniting a powerful attraction which they just cannot deny!
Tess and Callum have both been hurt in the past and they refuse to go down that rocky path of romance ever again. But under the hot Outback sun, Callum soon begins to realize that life needn’t be all about work. Will he manage to convince Tess that he’s now a changed man who wants her to be his wife?
The Surgeon’s Special Delivery is poignant romance at its finest! Fiona Lowe always peppers her stories with searing emotion, enthralling romance, engrossing drama and interesting medical scenarios, so readers looking for a Medical Romance that will keep them entertained will not be disappointed with her latest tale of new beginnings, redemption and second chances. Moving, enjoyable and wonderfully told, The Surgeon’s Special Delivery is another Fiona Lowe novel that is heading straight for my keeper shelf!
