I have found several great authors by reading reviews. Sylvia Day comes to mind, also Sherrilyn Kenyon. I’m sure there are lots more but I can’t think of them right now. When I see a new to me author,I make sure to write their name and book down and then go on a hunt for them!!

I have found several new authors thru reviews who I do not remember their names. I like to read a number of reviews in order to see how the book is before trying it.

I have found many authors through reviews, although perhaps also I am influenced by book discussions. Some reviewers have esoteric and lofty tastes, kind of akin to reviewers for film and music who favor indie type of fare. I don’t think a book has to be dark and full of despair to be good. So, even if a review is unfavorable, I will also check out book discussions to see what people have to say.

I have found several authors through blogreviews, Karin Tabke, Jennifer Haymore and Kathryne Kennedy are the latest. I buy the books if it has got great reviews from someone I know to like the same books as I do.

I’ve found some through reviews, but more through the blurbs at authorisland.com and via publisher newsletters. If the blurb generates interest, I will request the book through the library, if the library doesn’t have it, I’ll go to Amazon.com to read the reviews there before I consider buying a new author’s work.

Yes I have learned about new authors through a review on a blog. I have no idea whose blog it was because I read so many of them but the author was Ramona Richards and the book was “The Taking of Carly Bradford”. She’s not the only one but just the most recent.
