Review: Moutain Wild By Stacy Kayne

9:21 am in Harlequin Historical, July 2009, New Releases, Reviews, Stacey Kayne by Debby

Maggie has spent many years in the wild. Fear for her life led her to flee and now this is the only way she knows to survive. Even to protect the sanctuary of her location, she knows she cannot leave a man to die in the snow, especially one of the few men to ever show her kindness. She must help him and with no other choice she brings him to her safe haven. Garret Daines can’t believe the beautiful woman nursing him is the one known as Mad Mag. She touches him as no woman has before and he knows he would do anything to keep her safe and in his life. Maggie has lived in her shell for so long that she is not sure how to react to this man who shows her kindness. Maggie’s past has not been filled with friendly people and now that past is coming back to haunt her and Garret may be the only one who can save her.

Stacy Kayne will keep you on the edge of your seat as the plot for Mountain Wild unfolds. Maggie was a fantastic heroine. She had been dealt a bad hand in life and turned it into a winning one. Strong and very capable, she was a perfect match for Garrett. We met Garrett in a prior book and he grew into a sexy and compassionate man. It is these qualities combined with Maggie’s that allowed them survive and thrive. Mountain Wild tells the story of two people who find each other under unusual circumstances and wind up with a love that is unusual in its intensity. Stacy Kayne’s books just keep getting better and better. Don’t miss this one. Be sure and pick it up and be prepared for entertainment at its best.

Review: Going Down Hard by Tawny Weber

7:12 am in Harlequin Blaze, May 2009, New Releases, Reviews by Debby

Sierra Donovan has been handling her own problems since she was very young. The co-owner of Eventfully Yours with Belle Forsham, Sierra may finally have reached a point where she needs some help before the business is affected. Sierra has been receiving increasingly disturbing pictures. Using a computer, her face has been added to the compromising pictures. Belle insists she call the police but when the police are no help, Belle knows just the man, Reece Carter, the cousin of her fiancée. Sierra met Reece before and two months ago spent some highly memorable time with him. He can set her off like no man ever has before. He disturbs her control and she responds with sarcasm.

Reece Carter met Sierra six years ago and found her enticing. He is determined to see that she stays safe no matter how hard she tries to push him away. After all, anger is passion and can easily be changed into another type of passion. Reece cannot understand why Sierra stirs him so much but he is determined to explore the reasons in a way pleasurable to both.

Tawny Weber makes her heroes and heroines so strong, and so sexy that the pages sizzle. When Sierra and Reece clash, witty remarks and zingers fly haphazardly every time, making for some fun and exciting reading. The plot was well done, keeping us on our toes, and the ending perfect. Tawny Weber’s Going Down Hard will definitely please any reader. Another excellent tale from the pen of Tawny Weber.

Mitch Carter wants the best opening his new resort deserves, even if it means hiring event planner Belle Forsham, the woman who left him at the altar six years ago. Belle wants the job but for more reasons than one. Mitch is the one man who can light her up like no other and she wants to experience everything with him. Her other reasons can wait. Will he be as good as she imagines?

Belle and Mitch had such good chemistry together that a violent reaction was inevitable. When it did happen, the result was a veritable cornucopia of passionate encounters. The plot provided other heat as well as Mitch felt he was being sabotaged. Roadblocks to their happy ending occurred every step of the way with the final resolution remaining unknown until almost the very end. With Coming on Strong, Tawny Weber will quickly rise to the top of many auto buy lists.
