The bottom had fallen out of Belinda Rochester’s world when her beloved sister Gwen had died in a tragic accident. Belinda had been absolutely devastated when she had lost the only person in the world who had ever cared about her. Gwen had been the only family Belinda had ever had. Their parents had been too obsessed with their careers to care about the welfare of their two daughters, which is why Belinda is determined to do her utmost to make her beloved sister’s last wish a reality. Gwen and her Australian husband, Drew, had always dreamed about having a family of their own. Unfortunately for the two of them, the path to parenthood had been anything but easy. Having spent a fortune on fertility treatments, Gwen and Drew’s wish to become parents finally looked set to become a reality – until a cruel twist of them robbed them of that opportunity forever. However, Belinda had been adamant that she was going to bring Gwen and Drew’s children into the world. After a long and difficult legal battle, Gwen has finally been given the right to become impregnated with her late sister’s embryos. But just when happiness seems within reach in storms Drew’s brother, Flynn Bradley, with a court order in his hand preventing Belinda from going ahead with her plans…

Flynn Bradley had been absolutely devastated when his brother had turned his back on his family and allowed himself to be seduced by the bright lights of London and Gwen Rochester’s perfidious influence. Flynn had already lost his beloved brother to the Rochester family and he’s damned if he is going to allow snooty Gwen’s sister to lay claim to Drew’s child as well! Flynn is prepared to do anything to win custody of his niece or nephew – including marriage!

Belinda is flabbergasted when Flynn proposes to her. Although theirs is only a practical arrangement, Belinda cannot help but feel drawn to her convenient husband. Whisked away from her lonely London flat to the breathtaking beauty of the Australian Outback, Belinda is shocked when she begins to feel immediately at home on Drew’s homestead. But there are more shocks in store for Belinda for she soon finds out that she’s pregnant with twins – and that she’s fallen head over heels in love with Flynn Bradley!

Their Miracle Twins is a sublimely told and powerfully written tale of sacrifice, redemption, healing from the past and the power of love that is hard to put down and impossible to forget! Nikki Logan continues to raise the bar with her intensely emotional, wholly captivating and wonderfully moving romances and Their Miracle Twins is her best book yet!

Brimming with richly drawn characters, heart-wrenching emotion, sizzling sexual tension, breathtaking descriptions of Australian rural life and uplifting romance, Their Miracle Twins is another outstanding triumph for the supremely talented Nikki Logan!

Review: The Lone Wolfe – Kate Hewitt

5:38 pm in February 2012, Harlequin Presents, Reviews, USA by juliemt

Mollie Parker had spent most of her life caring for her beloved father in a tiny cottage on the grounds of Wolfe Manor, the beautiful ancestral home that belongs to the troubled Wolfe family. The gardener’s daughter had watched in horror as the patriarch of the Wolfe family made life hell for his many children- until his tragic demise. One by one, the Wolfe children had departed the house that held so many painful memories for them – leaving Mollie with only her ailing father for company. As her father’s illness had gone from bad to worse, Mollie had dedicated her life to caring for him. When he took his final breath, Mollie was all alone in the world and desperately in need of some time to rest, recuperate and grieve for her father. With nobody else to think about but herself, Mollie decided to fulfill her childhood dream of going to Italy, so she packed her bags and headed over to the country she’d always wanted to visit. But all good things must come to an end. Realizing that the time has come for her to head back home, Mollie waves the Dolce Vita goodbye and heads back home to England. However, on her return Mollie realizes that things have changed at Wolfe Manor…

Jacob Wolfe has spent most of his life running away from his past. Still haunted by childhood memories which he is desperate to forget, Jacob has realized that the only way he can vanquish old demons is by facing up to the past and going back to Wolfe Manor, the one place in the world he’d vowed never to visit ever again. Jacob is determined to destroy the house that holds so many painful memories for him and his siblings. Having only been a teenager when he’d walked away from Wolfe Manor, Jacob is not surprised when on his return he finds the house dilapidated and decaying and the gardens neglected and overgrown. However, Jacob’s surprise turns to shock when he stumbles upon a tiny cottage on the grounds of Wolfe Manor that is home to the beautiful Mollie Parker.

Jacob has always been a loner who had vowed never to let anybody penetrate the walls which he had built around himself. Adamant never to let anybody close to him ever again, the lone wolf is flabbergasted when all his defenses begin to crumble as he finds himself falling passionately in love with Mollie.

Will Mollie’s love manage to heal Jacob’s tortured soul? Or will Jacob continue to be held hostage by his past?

Kate Hewitt is a fantastic writer of romantic fiction who captures your attention from the very first page and keeps you enthralled until the very last full stop. Written straight from the heart, The Lone Wolfe is a superb contemporary tale fully charged with heartbreaking pathos, compelling emotional drama and first class romance.

I was completely caught up in Mollie and Jacob’s powerful story. As always, Kate Hewitt’s characters are sublime and they fly off the pages and straight into your heart. I absolutely adored Mollie’s generous spirit, strength and compassionate nature and Jacob was a wonderful brooding hero romance readers everywhere will just love.

A highly emotional romantic tale that will tug at your heartstrings and bring a tear to your eye, The Lone Wolfe is a wonderfully absorbing and immensely moving novel from a writer who just keeps getting better and better!

7:52 am in February 2012, M&B Modern Romance, Reviews, UK by juliemt

Holly Valiant is sick and tired of being the sensible and plain country mouse everybody else takes for granted. She wants to lead an exciting life and be a glamorous city girl, so when she gets the job of her dreams – working as an agony aunt for Rock! The only problem is that Ruiz Acosta is the most gorgeous man Holly has ever clapped eyes on!

Holly cannot deny that she finds her best friend’s brother deliciously attractive, but she is well aware that a man like Ruiz Acosta usually dates sophisticated supermodels and beautiful actresses, not country bumpkins like her! Even if by some miracle, Ruiz was attracted to Holly, she’s got neither the time nor the inclination for a relationship. On her first day at the magazine, Holly is immediately told by her boss that if she doesn’t increase the number of readers who read the advice column, she could find herself out of a job! Holly knows that her readers want something juicy and scandalous – and what better way is there to tantalize her readers than by writing about her new flat mate Ruiz’s titillating exploits?

Ruiz is determined to give Holly plenty of copy for her advice column – starting with a master class in seduction! Research quickly flies out of the window as Holly succumbs to Ruiz’s tempting caresses and seductive kisses. Review:Once A Good Girl…. by Wendy S. Marcus

3:42 pm in February 2012, Harlequin Medical Romance, Reviews by emilyh

Victoria Forley spent her young adult life trying to live up to the strict standards her father put on her.  The one time she veered from the path is when she fell for town bad boy Kyle Karlinsky, which resulted in an unexpected pregnancy and being shut out by her family.  Years later Victoria is the epitome of professional, wanting the best for her child and to prove to others that she is worthy of respect.

Kyle has not set foot back in Madrin  since a beautiful evening ended up  breaking his heart and leaving town within hours of what he thought was a  turning point in his life.  Now a Doctor who specializes in therapeutic medicine, with his dog Tori.  He sees Victoria for the first time, all those years disappear as he realizes she is still the one for him.  Recapturing her heart though is going to be difficult as he finds out he is a father and trust will have to be earned.

I thought this was really enjoyable, I liked that Victoria  had a tough outer shell that begins to crack once Kyle reenters her life. Although Kyle has grown up to be successful, he still has a bit of that bad boy streak that endears him to readers.   Would definitely read the rest of the books in this series.
