Guest Blogging

Thanks so much for your interest in writing for CataRomance.com. This page contains guidelines that will help you in writing a post for us and will allow us to publish all the submissions we get faster.

Please read this page carefully. Thanks!

What can you blog about?- any topic that will be of interest to readers -

Please remember that Blog Posts on the CataRomance should not be promotional in nature. That’s what your Author Bio box is for at the end. Thanks so much for helping us ensure the quality of our blog. Your dedication will keep readers coming back for more.

We’re specifically interested in:

* Books you’re reading
* 1st hand stories of trips to the bookstore or library
* original content about your life as a reader or author
* observations about books, readers, authors, the industry
* personal or humorous accounts

What we’re NOT interested in:

* excerpts, blurbs, reviews, etc.
* posts that promote your book, service, etc. We have advertising opps for such things
* topics for writers (craft, promo tips, etc) we have a site dedicated to that: catauniversity.com

Images & Subheadings

Images attract readers and subheadings keep them reading so we’re fans of both here at ST. If you have an image that you own the copyright to or have permission to use, please contact Ally about using it. She’s happy to help crop/post it.

If you can give your post subheadings like the ones above and below, please do!
Length, editing & reprints

We get asked a lot about length of the post. Ideally 2 full paragraphs or more. Less than 2 pages. Otherwise, it’s entirely up to you so long as the post is engaging.

We request fully edited, proofed and double checked posts that are ready for publication. This allows us to post them quicker.

Regarding reprints… If you have a wonderful post from your blog that you’d like to reprint on CR, we’re all for it. So long as you still own the copyright. We do however request that you note within the article that this is a reprint, when & where it was originally printed. It’s sort of like going to the bookstore, picking up a book by your favorite author, and getting home to discover that you already read it ten years ago and you just bought a reissue.
Your Byline

We want readers to know who you are so we want your name to appear right at the top of your post!

We also understand that you have a book or service to offer so we request that you post a few sentences about yourself and your product in the About The Author box. If you have a Gravatar account you can use it to include your cover at the end of your post.
How do I post my blog piece?

Make sure you’re registered with the site. Sign up for a date here and  Email Donna, donna @ catanetwork .com, a week before with your blog piece and your username here on CR. Your blog piece should be formatted like this.
