Review: A FATHER’S NAME by Holly Jacobs

August 31, 2011 in Harlequin Superromance, Reviews, September 2011 by Donna Zapf

"Angelina Tucker falls for an honorable man who sacrifices everything for a friend, even his chance for love."

Just by looking at her, no one would expect petite Angelina Tucker to be responsible for running a garage and custom paint motorcycles, but she does, while raising her son as a single parent.  Which is the reason she rarely dates and never a man who wears designer suits.  So when her father introduces her to their newest employee, Tucker, which she likes to be called, is flabbergasted.  Tyler Martinez is the “designer suit” guy that pestered her for a date several months back.  This man had it all and was not the kind of person to get grease under his fingernails; why did he think he could work at a garage?

Tyler is fresh out of prison where he spent six months plus paid restitution for embezzlement.  Tucker’s father believes in second chances and he knows Tyler is a great mechanic but he makes it clear that his daughter deserves better than an ex-con and is off limits.  Tyler is very aware that he would be no good for Tucker but that doesn’t lessen his desire for her.  Then the unthinkable happens, his best friend is killed in an accident and Tyler is given guardianship of his little boy.  Tucker can not resist helping out and falling in love with both Tyler and his new son.

Award winning author Holly Jacobs writes heart warming family romance that touches her readers every time.  Her latest captivating book, A FATHER’S NAME, reacquaints us with familiar character Tucker and introduces us to Tyler, an honorable man that goes  above and beyond to protect his friend’s reputation.  Jacobs lovingly portrays the unconditional support given Tyler by Tucker and the other employees at the garage, the kind of support usually only given within families.  A delightful addition to the Whedon, Pennsylvania series by talented Holly Jacobs .
